PURPOSE
Inner Guidance Yoga School's foundational 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program is an in-person, transformative educational experience that integrates traditional wisdom with contemporary knowledge. In this comprehensive program you will gain in-depth knowledge of yoga techniques, philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology. Through thorough instruction and mentorship, you will have the opportunity to deepen your personal yoga practice. All while gaining the skills necessary to effectively teach yoga in an authentic and inclusive way, in order to better serve and contribute positively to humanity.
During the course of this training you will strengthen your ability to self-reflect, self-regulate, and utilize the tools of yoga to explore your authentic self. You will study human anatomy and the energetic systems such as Nadis, and Chakras that make up the energetic body, and will learn about principles of teaching such as benefits of postures, contraindications, and how to apply yoga asana and pranayama, and meditation in a safe and effective manner.
The main styles focused on in this training will be traditional Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga. You will learn how to teach through practice, observation, assisting, and adjusting with great emphasis on learning how to adapt your teachings to support the individual needs of students.
However, the physical practice of yoga is only a part of the Yoga tradition. In this training attendees can expect to delve deep into the philosophy, lifestyle, and ethics of traditional yoga teachings so that it can be applied to your own life, and the classes you will teach. We will also unpack topics like inclusivity and cultural appropriation in the yoga industry in effort of better yoga stewardship.
This program consists of 10 weekend intensives stretched out across 10 months. Each weekend intensive consists of 18 credit hours for a total of 180 contact hours. You will spend an additional 20 non-contact hours observing and participating in outside group classes or workshops. In addition to participating in weekend intensives, you will be assigned a reasonable amount of reading, homework, and projects to complete before the end of the training to assist with comprehension and application of course material. This program is designed to provide you with instruction and curriculum compliant with standards set by Yoga Alliance, a national registering organization for yoga teachers and yoga teacher trainings, to become a 200 hour Registered Instructor.

Can I attend the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training if I don't plan on teaching yoga after graduation?
You can still register and attend the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training if you don’t plan on teaching after graduation. However, a large majority of our training will be focused on learning the applicable skills of teaching yoga, and you would still be expected to fully participate in all practice teaching activities and projects so as not to dilute the experience of your peers who are there to learn how to become the best yoga instructors they can be!
Is there a refund policy?
If an applicant withdraws from the program after acceptance, but before the program starts, the deposit amount will not be refunded by the program. However, such deposits can be applied towards a future training program. The program will not give any refunds or credits after the training starts. The program reserves the right to cancel any training before it begins. In that case any payments applicants have made will be refunded in full.
If a student wishes to withdraw from our program for any reason, they must first contact the program director to discuss their reasons for withdrawal. Withdrawal with a refund will not be permitted after weekend intensive three but is transferable to future training(s) within yoga school. In this instance the student must reapply for the next available session. If for any reason the tuition is increased for the next available session the student would be responsible for paying the difference of the higher rate.
If the program decides to terminate the student’s participation in the program, the student is not entitled to any prior payments or fees. All prior payments and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
